TomTom ONE 3rd Edition 3.5" GPS System w/ Preloaded Maps of US/Canada - Refurbished - 1N01.083 - Refurbished

I bought this as a replacement for my old Tom Tom Go. I liked my old unit except it has screen glare, and could not be seen with sunglasses on. This new unit has none of those problems. The audio, GPS function and display are much better. Calculating the route takes some time, probably from a slow processor. The unit is otherwise perfect. Tom Tom web site is very easy to use. It automatically updates the unit to the latest operating system. It will also update to the latest maps if you just purchased the unit. This is a refurbished unit but it works like new and has a new unit warrany.

This has every basic feature you need. Day and night colors, volume adjustment, shows time of arrival, it has clear picture and sound and it even shows you your speed. Sometimes it will take you the long way around, but it will always get you where you need to go. Very impressed! I will use this one until it stops working! :o)

This is a great gps for the price! It has different voices you can download, the graphics are clear, directions are precise. You can also update it with new maps which is a huge plus! I would definitely recommend this!

I purchased this for my son and decided on TomTom because I have a higher end model. This is perfect for him and works just like new. Comes with car and usb charger and mount for windshield...cant beat this for the price!

This is my first interaction with GPS devices, and it helped me learn what to look for when I buy the next unit. For someone like me who is new to the area / city / state, prompting of street names / exit numbers is a must as well as a slot for extended memory card support to load extra POIs. Also I found that the map could have been more precise (even after updating); few streets I drove to didn't support the house number as address parameter. But overall, a great product for its price. And no one can point that it's a refurbished product. It's as good as new and works perfectly well with its feature limitations. TomTom support was also very prompt in fixing one of the problem I faced while updating the TomTom Home (PC interaction software). So thumbs up to TomTom One.....

So far my GPS is working good, but once in a while it tells me to take wrong turn. Some of the site in WI was not updated, I tried to update from Tom Tom website, it updated, but still can't find some roads in Madison, WI. Other than this its working great!

I had a Magellan GPS which was stolen from my car while on a business trip. So I bought a refurbished TomTom One 3rd Edition from Buy.com because I had seen their commercials. First, it tries too hard to be cute. If you just want to see a map of where you are, forget it. It forces you to enter a destination then it gives you turn by turn directions. I liked my Magellan better because it takes itself more seriously. Sure it will give turn-by-turn directions, but it will also show where you are on a map, North Up or Direction of Travel Up. Then my TomTom died after a half hour in the car. Apparently the DC cord is bad because it charges fine when plugged into a USB port. So, I just ordered a Magellan, and after I get the TomTom power cord fixed I will put it on Ebay.

at the beginning some misunderstanding of audio command, e.g., exit right ahead, % does it mean the immediate next exit? if you think so, 100% you will exit too early ! 2 major draw back : 1. not too easy to just navigate. 2. slow in mail in rebate, i haven't received my $20 rebate so far, it has been 2 month almost.

Overall I liked this product, the only problem I see is that it should be a little bit more intelligent, I mean, when you are in a City that you do not know and you get a partial address, then you might be in throuble, how do I know if that address is an st, ave, lane, etc..., if you do not put the exact address it will not find the place you want to go. I think it should suggest something if it does not find the address you are entering like the map web sites do. But once you enter the correct address then you are in good hands.

Because the warranty is essentially the same as a brand new TomTom ONE 3rd Edition Portable GPS System, this product is a great buy. True, it does not meet the current technology standard of voice-identifying the streets you're navigating, but that's really the only shortcoming. Ease of use, ease of updating via your computer, and consistent success identifying the correct route make this a worthy purchase.

Have used Tom Tom One extensively for over 6 mths in NYC, NJ, Pensacola, Roanoke area with no problems. Sometimes it takes several minutes to acquire signal. 3.5" screen is just right size to view but not cause excessive blind spot on windshield. Spoken voice is loud and understandable even with loud radio. Roadblock feature which routes you around traffic jam is great as are the numbers of included and downloadable POI's. Low price allowed us to purchase one for each car.

I'm still getting used to using GPS navigation, but think this TomTom is great for a starter unit. It's easy to set up and use. Either it or I get(s) a little confused sometimes by things like changing destinations or opting to travel in an HOV lane, but we are getting along and it's nice to be told things like move to this lane or that.

great product but the map cannot be updated easily. The Tomtom home showed errors and it spent me all most one day to update the map, but in the end I still don't know why Tomtom worked for suddently:( Anyway, the product is very good, but if you want to update the map, you should be careful.

I'm highly pleased with TomTom and wish I had one years ago. It's so convenient not having to worry where I'm going. I'd give it 5 stars, but the only negatives are it doesn't pronounce the street names, had a hard time finding some streets, and sometimes tells to turn when it's just a little too late. It's very accurate, even knows which way you're facing, and is also nicely functional connected to the computer.

For the price, I think you'd be hard-pressed to find a better GPS. I've had mine for awhile now and it has been extremely helpful. The days of printing out online directions are over! :) TomTom customer service was very friendly and very helpful - I had trouble using my latest map guarantee, but a couple short emails had that resolved quickly. Highly recommended if you're looking for a good entry-level GPS.

I had researched GPS's on Consumer Reports and they recommended the TomTom One as a top performer and a Best Buy for it's value. Not only is it great in the car, but it is portable. We were able to take it with us and use it on our vacation. (The rental car company wanted an additional $10/day for their in car GPS...so it almost paid for itself just in that use) I guess the only drawback is that you 'may' need to buy updated maps, but at this price, I'll accept that.

First time buyer of portable GPS device; I planned a cross-country drive from Denver to Boston and gave it a tryout. This thing is amazing - really amazing. For the uninitiated (like me), it zeros in on your GPS location on a map and announces directions 2mi/1mi/200ft etc. in a loud voice (adjustable). Two points did the trick Denver/Boston it re-calculates as you go. Take a detour for gas, sightseeing etc. - it gives you local directions to get you back on the road. Going home? Then its even easier - press home, and its like a homing pigeon, recalculating, distancing, projecting hours etc. This is a much more user friendly and useful device that I ever imagined (it negotiated NY city with ease). I learned that its judgment was almost always best i.e. route/direction/distance. However, use common sense when traveling at rush hour around Chicago, NY, Boston; it's not going to miraculously part traffic for you to drive the family SUV through. All in all, a very impressive and reasonably friendly device to use. I was also surprised how often I saw the glow of GPS devices (and many TomTom's)in the reflections of long distance travelers. - well worth the price.

TomTom One seems to work ok. The web site is ok with a number of free downloads. The power cord for automobile is a little crazy. It has a 2 amp fuze in it that blew for some reason. This fuze just doesn't grow on trees. It's kinda hard to find. I have to buy a pack of assorted fuzes at Autozone to get one 2 amp. Now it's probably a good thing to have a fuze in a power cord, but my phone and portable CB player doesn't have it so "What's Up".

The TomTom ONe 3rd Edition is a great GPS. I reviewed many entry level GPS units from various retailers and this one has the best features for the price. You could not tell the GPS was anything but new. TomTom also allows you to upgrade your maps the first time for free. That's right for free. That is worth the value of the unit right there. I had some problems which required several calls to customer service to get the upgraded maps downloaded (had to delete old version before downloading update)--but it was really no big deal. It works very well. You can personalize the look and voices used. Austin Powers, Darth Vader, etc. I would recommend this unit to anyone who wants a very user friendly, inexpensive GPS with some cool features. Very practical! Very Pleased! Buy.com had it to me in within 48 hours of order--free shipping--awesome!

After getting lost in Tennessee, I knew I needed to get a GPS. I saw this one on Buy.com after many weeks of research. I picked this one and I was suprised to see how easy it was to use! The only downside that I found that it doesn't have a big memory nor is there a space where I can use a memory card to hold more info. Map loading a bit tedious but tolerable. I like this unit so much. I'd like to get another for my hubby!

Since buying this model because of the low price, I would have gladly spent the extra money for a better working GPS!!! This unit does not recognize 75% of the cities that I try to locate and travel to. When it does recognize one, if I am more than say 18 miles away, the unit freezes and has to reboot. I cannot get directions until I am almost to my destination! What good is that? I have to still look up directions online, and basically only use the unit to see the names of upcoming roads on my route so I do not pass the intended road I am going to. I would recommend another brand like the Magellan that my father has, and we have never had a problem.

Being a 1st time GPS user I was a little overwhelmed with the amount of systems available. I decided to go "basic" with my purchase. This refurbished unit looks and works perfect so far. The navagation seems spot on. I end up right at the door of the location I program in. The only drawbacks so far are that the screen is a bit hard to see in bright light and downloading updates takes alot of time with a dial-up connection. For downloading maps you really need a high speed connection. The TomTom Home website is easy to use. I'm satisfied with my choice and would recommend this unit to anyone looking for a no frills GPS. I will be taking my TomTom to Denver while on vacation and using it in the rental car. HAPPY TRAILS TO YOU!!!

Purchased for my husbands birthday. He complained in the beginning by trying to see how much it cost, but after using it he is very satisfied. He is truly amazed at the accuracy of the distances of the directions given. He has not asked about the cost since.
