Outlet malls have been getting a bit of bad press lately. According to Dailyfinance.com, more than eight in ten products sold in outlet stores are made to sell there. And just half of the shops at an outlet mall are required to be actual outlets. While you may think it's last season's style, left over on a retail rack, it's actually delivered to the outlet store directly from the manufacturer. The price is lower because the quality isn't as great. So how do you know you're getting a truly great deal? Check out these genuine outlet stores.

Lenox
If you're in the market for dinnerware, figurines or fine china check out the Lenox outlet store. The store offers overstocks and second quality dinnerware. But be prepared for off-season deals. For instance, Christmas ornaments and holiday-themed patterns are up to 80% off the suggested retail price until the end of July. No time to trek out to the nearest outlet mall? Check out the Lenox Overstock section on their website for similar deals.

LL Bean
LL Bean sends all of their discontinued or overstock merchandise to ten outlet stores in four states in the northeast. Here you'll find deals on apparel for the whole family as well as accessories like luggage, outdoor gear and home decor. Discounts can be up to 60% off retail prices.

OshKosh B'gosh
OshKosh B'gosh has hundreds of outlet locations around the country, selling timeless kids clothing at deep discounts. Plus extra savings is pretty typical. At OshKosh locations in TangerOutlets everything in the store is 40% off until the end of July and clearance is an additional 20% off.

Coach
Coach bags can cost quite a bit. And while even the outlet version may be too rich for some bargain shoppers' blood, it's a great way to find discounted bags from a brand that otherwise doesn't offer too many sales. If you can score an invite to the members-only website coachfactory.com you'll have first dibs to the same handbags, wallets and accessories sold at factory stores with discounts of up to 70%.

Saks Off 5th
While Off 5th began as a clearinghouse for Saks Fifth Avenue merchandise, it has evolved into a full-fledged national retailer offering deals on over 800 brands including big name designer fashion. Some brands are made exclusively for the store, but other products are leftovers from past seasons. Be sure to combine deals with the More! discount program which offers coupons and invites to special events.
