Americans have more than 170 million supermarket loyalty program memberships. According to a report from Time Magazine, every American household has about ten active loyalty programs. These programs give consumers exclusive discounts and retailers piles of data, but there are ways to boost your loyalty card savings even more at your favorite stores.

Saving Star
In addition to saving money with your loyalty card you can also add cash to your SavingStar account. Download the free app, click on the eCoupons you like and link them to your grocery and drug store loyalty cards. Buy the specified items and the money will be put into your SavingStar account. Lots of grocery stores participate, plus national chains like Rite Aid and CVS. Soon you'll also be able to boost savings at stores like Walmart, Target and Walgreens.

Coupons.com
Add extra coupons to your store loyalty cards with the help of Coupons.com. Create a free account then click on "Add Card" from the loyalty card page. You can add as many store loyalty cards as you want. Load the coupons on to your cards and when you buy the correct products the money will be deducted from your bill.

UPromise
You can also use your store loyalty cards to save money for your children's college education. Register all of the participating loyalty cards in your wallet. Stores like CVS, Rite Aid and Food Lion all participate. Load the grocery coupons onto your card each month and buy the specific food or household items. The money will be deposited into your UPromise account.

Smartsource
Load coupons directly onto your loyalty card at smartsource.com. The site works with grocers including Commissary, Kroger and Rite Aid. Virtually clip your coupons once your loyalty card is linked. Scan the card at checkout and the savings will automatically be deducted from your total.

Local Grocery Store
Your grocery store of choice may also offer mobile coupons that you can load on to your loyalty card. You'll likely need to set up an account on the store's website in order to access the savings, but with just a few clicks you'll be taking advantage of money saving coupons without ever having to dust off your scissors.
