Last year prom spending rose to $1,139 per person according to USAToday.com, and this year that could be even higher. There are dresses to buy, spray tans to get and limos to book. But when it comes to accessories, check out these destinations to help save a few bucks.

Payless
Payless is known for affordable shoes, and special occasion footwear is no different. Check out their collection of glittery and sparkly heels, perfect for prom. Some special occasion footwear is on sale for as little as $9 or $12.

Delia's
Rhinestones are a girl's best friend-- when budgets are concerned. Lucky for prom-goers Delia's offers some flashy Rhinestone Stretch Bracelets, on sale for just $9.60.

Call It Spring
Maybe what your prom ensemble needs to be complete is a funky statement necklace. Choose between several colors and styles at callitspring.com, where most sell for about $15.

Satin Gloves
For a really fancy gown a pair of satin gloves can make the look even more elegant. A pair of 18" long satin stretch gloves that reach above the elbow sells for just $6.99 on eBay. Shipping is free and there are 12 colors to choose from.

Charming Charlie
Leave your chunky purse at home. Swap it instead for a Sequin Chic Mesh Wristlet, just $13 at CharmingCharlie.com. You won't need to carry much on prom night anyway to keep your bag small, yet very sparkly.

Go Jane
For some statement heels check out GoJane.com. Most pairs sell for $30 or less. They may not be the most comfortable or practical shoes around, but you only go to prom once.
