Getting off the couch a couple of nights a week to take on a second job is a great way to earn extra cash. But not every field lends itself to nighttime employment. If you decide working nights is the avenue you want to take to meet your financial goals check out these jobs for earning extra cash in the evenings.

Medical Transcription
Can't get enough Grey's Anatomy? Then perhaps your ideal nighttime job would be medical transcription. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, medical transcriptionists listen to physicians' voice recordings and convert them to written reports. You'll need some training to learn medical terminology, but once you do, the work load should be steady. Demand for healthcare services is growing which means the need for medical transcription will too.

Retail
Lots of retail stores offer 5-9pm shifts. It's a great part-time gig that comes with perks like store discounts, but the pay isn't always great. If you like people and are good at customer service this may be a viable option.

Driver
You probably don't want to drive an 18-wheeler around at night, but what about giving lifts to strangers who need rides? Two apps make it easy to connect with people who need a ride and are willing to pay for it. Sign up to be a driver with Sidecar and Lyft. You set your own schedule and could make up to $35 an hour.

Tutor
Plenty of kids need help afterschool understanding certain subjects. Earn quick cash as a tutor either advertising on Craigslist or through a site like Tutor.com. You'll need some patience for this job, but the good news is you won't have to work too late since most kids are under curfew.

Hospitality
Think about places that are open late or all night-- airports, hotels, restaurants. The hospitality industry thrives on part-time employees. Target the places that interest you most, or at the very least, are most convenient to your location. Keep in mind that this second job probably won't be your dream job, but it can be a very fruitful financial move that helps you achieve your goals.
