Almost as important as the food you serve on Thanksgiving is the table at which it's eaten. Just like those who gathered for the first Thanksgiving feast, the table is the common ground that brings families and friends together for a meal that celebrates gratitude. Now let us stuff you full of some ideas to decorate your Thanksgiving table on a budget.

Pull Out the Pumpkins
If your pumpkins or gourds from earlier in the fall are still going strong put them in the Thanksgiving spotlight. Arrange fresh flowers in a jar and place it inside a carved out pumpkin. Or paint the gourds one color for a unified, festive look. Arrange them in a shallow basket or dish.

Go for the Gold
Gold can add elegance and make your Thanksgiving table feel special. Go a little crazy with low cost gold paint from the craft store. Paint acorns, leaves and pinecones to turn freebies from your yard into something spectacular.

Use Free Printables
Make it easy on yourself with the help of free printables from TheTomKatStudio.com. The free printable set includes a Thanksgiving banner, a menu, dessert table labels, and leftover labels.

Decorate with Burlap
Burlap is rustic and earthy, perfect for a Thanksgiving table. Plus it happens to be extremely inexpensive. Fancy it up with some stencils to create a one of a kind table runner. Wrap it around plain glass candle holders and vases. Or cut it into strips and secure with a button or twine for a DIY napkin ring.

Make a Thankful Tree
This is a centerpiece even the little ones can get behind. Using inspiration from thediymommy.com, find a branch in your backyard and anchor it into a small pot with rocks to hold it in place. Using leaves cut out from yellow, orange and brown construction paper ask diner guests to write down what they're thankful for. Attach the leaves to your branch with wire, ornament hooks or glue. Not only is this one a great conversation piece for Thanksgiving dinner, but it truly embodies the purpose of the holiday.
