We can all be more earth-friendly. And most of us are also looking for ways to save money. With these five products you can accomplish both goals.

Air Filters
Air filters trap dust, pollen and dander from circulating throughout your home. While these are supposed to be replaced every few months in order to keep your furnace running you can opt to use a washable version. According to Lowes.com these can be cleaned and reused for up to 10 years. They're about $20 while a disposable one will cost about the same and only last three months.

Batteries
Rechargeable batteries cost about ten times as much as disposable ones. But rechargeable batteries can be reused up to 100 times. That can equal a lifetime savings of $75 per battery according to realsimple.com. The website suggests using chargeable batteries for things like remote control toys, cordless power tools and portable DVD players.

Coffee Filters
Whether you drink regular drip coffee or single-use cups consider switching to reusable filters. A set of two organic basket filters is $9 at brewwrightsupplyanddemand.com. A Solofill Reusable K-Cup brewer is $12.98 at Amazon.com and will help you save money and reduce environmental impact.

Food Pouches
Food pouches are all the rage right now. They're a super convenient way to serve up squishy foods to babies and toddlers. But at $1 to $2 a pop they are pretty pricey. Buy a set of eight reusable Squooshi Food Pouches for $33.99 at Overstock.com. Use them each four times and you'll already have made your money back.

Dry Erase Pockets
Here's a great money-saver for teachers. If you find yourself spending a lot of time and resources making copies this handy product could save you both. Reusable Dry Erase Pockets eliminate the need for a copier and last a long time. Spend $19.99 and you'll receive ten pockets that can be used over and over.
