Babies are a lot of work, but there's nothing more rewarding than caring for a little bundle of joy. Celebrate these pint-sized portions of perfection on May 2, also known as Baby Day. Get help caring for the tots in your life with the best free apps for entertaining babies.

Animal Sounds for Baby
Fisher Price makes more than great toys-- you can now download their free apps. Animal Sounds for Baby encourages little ones to learn about animals and the sounds they make by engaging with animations on the iPad. Babies learn to tap, tilt and shake the screen to interact with the animals.

BabyFirst Video HD
Based on the hit TV channel, the BabyFirst Mobile HD iPad app features the same characters your child may already be familiar with. It's available in seven languages and introduces concepts like numbers, animals, colors and more.

BabyFirst's Play Phone
Few toys can pique a baby's interest like the iPhone. Now with the free Play Phone app they can pretend to call people while learning about numbers. The app even lets parents record their own voice telling their child they love them.

Peekaboo HD
Give baby their first Spanish lesson with the free Peekaboo HD app. It's a digital cue card to teach little ones animal names in Spanish or English.

Endless Alphabet App
Help your baby learn their ABCs using the adorable monsters in the free Endless Alphabet app. More words and monsters are added weekly, but keep in mind you'll need ample storage space for this app.

Baby Soother
Transform your digital device into the baby whisperer with the free Baby Soother app. It's a digital take on the popular Fisher-Price and Baby Einstein products found in toy stores, complete with mesmerizing motions, music and sounds. The free version includes an animated snow scene and three free lullabies.

Giggle Gang App for Baby
You can buy a plush Giggle Gang character for your baby at the toy store and now you can download the Giggle Gang app in the iTunes store. Babies six months and older will have fun tapping and tilting the screen in order to get the characters to laugh. The app also has a second level of fun to keep older babies entertained.
