Enjoying Spring Break Without Breaking the Bank

Posted on 03/18/2013

Does summer fun still seem too far away? Don't worry-- spring break is around the corner. Even if you don't have any money saved up for a big trip you can still enjoy spring break without breaking the bank.

Think Snow Instead of Sand
Winter may be winding down, but that's a good reason to head north for spring break. Many ski resorts start offering deep discounts this time of year to compete with warmer destinations. Heavenly Lake Tahoe is offering spring break deals starting at just $285 per person.

Keep Good Company
Spring break doesn't have to be about the destination. It can be enjoyable no matter where you are if you keep good company. Spend time with old friends or family members and you'll make memories just by being together.

Take in Natural Surroundings
Beaches, lakes, rivers-- they're all over America and most are completely free to enjoy. Plus if your spring break happens to fall between April 22-26 you can get free access to any national park. Entrance is free during those days for National Park Week.

Play Ball
Spend spring break taking in America's favorite pastime: baseball. Every major league team starts spring training and the games can be more affordable than regular season match-ups. Check out springtrainingonline.com for schedules and tickets.

Go Off the Beaten Path
The National Museum of Funeral History, a Giant Bowler Hat and a real-life Thomas the Train are all lesser-known attractions sprinkled across America. Head to RoadsideAmerica.com for help finding oddball attractions within driving distance of your town. You'll definitely have something to talk about after spring break.
