Forty-six percent of consumers will hit brick and mortar stores this holiday season with millions of bargain hunters heading out for some Black Friday shopping. While Black Friday is mostly known for its incredible deals, it's also known for creating quite the frenzy. If you plan to venture out for some post-Thanksgiving gift buying, here are a few tips for keeping the fun in Black Friday.

Stay Warm Leaving your cozy bed to stand outside in chilly temperatures waiting for your favorite retailer to open their doors can bring out the worst in anybody. Go prepared by dressing appropriately. Consider carrying a blanket, a thermos of hot cocoa and some pocket warmers. The more enjoyable you can make the waiting, the more fun you'll have when shopping.

Bring Headphones
You may be standing next to strangers for an hour or more as you wait for the doors to open on Black Friday. And there's no guaranteeing you won't get stuck standing next to one of the most annoying people on the planet. So instead of listening to their irritating conversations pop in your headphones and listen to you favorite music. You may even want to play some Christmas tunes to get in the spirit.

Go With a Favorite Friend
Calling in the enforcements on Black Friday can definitely make the experience more fun. Make Black Friday a social experience by inviting a friend along. You'll have someone to laugh with and someone to kill the time with.

Create Traditions
Black Friday can be a part of your holiday tradition, just like decorating the tree or watching "It's a Wonderful Life." Perhaps you and your shopping buddy can wear silly matching stocking caps, or take a mid-morning bagel break at your favorite bakery. Think of Black Friday as less of a chore and more of a holiday ritual.

Set a Limit
Even the most seasoned shop-a-holics need to know when to call it quits. Don't expect to hit absolutely every store or snag every doorbuster on Back Friday. Plan to hit a few of your favorite spots and then go home, relax and eat some Thanksgiving leftovers.
