Storing cord blood with Americord will cost parents $1,999 for enrollment. That cost includes 20 years of storage. Payments plans are available and there are not any annual fees.


Cryo-Cell, $3,799
Choosing Cryo-Cell for cord banking will cost parents $3,799. This option includes cord blood collection, processing and storage for 21 years. There is no annual fee, but like many of the services, you will have to pay about $150 for a medical courier fee when the cord blood is collected.


Viacord, $4,495
The cost for Viacord cord banking is $1,995. That includes a cord blood collection kit, processing and one year of storage. However, once you pay the upfront fee you’ll still have to pay $125 a year for storage. Discounts are available if you pre-pay for storage.


LifebankUSA, $4,550
Like the other companies, LifebankUSA offers tissue banking as well as cord blood banking. But with LifebankUSA you can bank tissue for free when you pay for cord blood banking. Collection, processing and the first year of storage is $2,175. After that customers must pay $125 each year for storage which brings the fee over 20 years to $4,550.


Cord Blood Registry: $4,695
Cord Blood Registry bills itself as the largest and most popular banking option, but it also appears to be one of the priciest. The total upfront cost for new customers is $2,195, which can be broken down into 12 monthly payments of $198. There is also a $125 annual storage fee.
