Easy Ways to Raise Money for Your Favorite School

Posted on 03/22/2012

Schools across the country are facing shrinking budgets and expanding enrollment. In many cases they’re forced to do more with less. Most of us can’t write big fat checks to help, but there are easy ways you can raise money for your favorite school without altering your budget.

Box Tops for Education Since it started in 1996, Box Tops for Education has helped America’s schools earn more than $400 million. You’ll find Box Tops on packaging for hundreds of products you’re probably already putting in your shopping cart including Cheerios, Hamburger Helper and Kleenex. Every time you clip one out that’s like giving your favorite school a dime! There are also ways to earn eBox Tops when you shop online.

Labels for Education
Another way to turn your groceries into school support is through the Labels for Education program. Collect proofs of purchase from the Campbell family of brands—which includes everything from BIC pens to Post cereal— and your favorite school can exchange them for free educational equipment. In the past 38 years the program has provided more than $114 million worth of merchandise to schools in the US.

Switch from Google to GoodSearch and you can start racking up money for the school of your choice every time you hop online. When you search the web from GoodSearch.com they give money to the charity or school you’ve designated. It’s free to you and benefits the school.

Target Take Charge of Education
If you shop at Target frequently and you even have a Target REDcard in your wallet this is an easy way you can help put your shopping habits to good use for your favorite school. Enroll online for the Take Charge of Education program. Target will donate up to 1% of your REDcard purchases to the eligible K-12 school of your choice. If you have the Target Debit Card you can participate as well.

My Coke Rewards
In the past you could collect My Coke Rewards for prizes, but now you can donate them to your favorite school. You can find qualifying codes on 14 beverage brands including Sprite, DASANI and of course, Coca-Cola. Schools can redeem the points to purchase things they need like glue sticks and soccer goals.
