Companies Hiring the Most Seasonal Holiday Workers

We may still be awaiting the arrival of Halloween, but retailers are already planning for Christmas. Hoping to be hired on for a holiday job? You better start applying now, according to experts. Many retailers are already posting their open positions for seasonal work. The good news is there are hundreds of thousands of jobs available for people who don’t mind working during the holiday season.

Kohl’s Kohl’s department store announced earlier this month that they’ll be hiring more than 40,000 associates around the country this year. That’s up 5% over last year’s holiday season. The hiring breaks down to an average of 35 associates per store. Kohl’s currently has 1,127 locations in 49 states. The company says it will also fill 2,500 seasonal positions in distribution centers. All slots will be filled by mid-November so check out KohlsCareers.com to apply.

Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s
According to CNN.com retailer Macy’s will hire 78,000 temporary workers for the holiday season. That’s a 4% jump compared to last year. They’ll be hiring at both Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s locations, call centers and distribution centers. Target

Toys “R” Us
Toys “R” Us announced it will hire 40,000 employees this holiday. If you like kids than this job could help you feel the Christmas spirit. Search available jobs in your area at stores or distribution centers by visiting toysrusinc.com/careers.

Radio Shack
According to Radio Shack’s website they are now hiring for the holidays. They’re looking for energetic, helpful team members who can serve customers and stock merchandise. They offer generous discounts and flexible schedules for employees.

JC Penney
According to the New York Times, JC Penney plans to hire 35,000 people over the holidays. That’s up from 30,000 last year. Start your retail career at JCP by visiting JCPenney.net/careers.aspx.

UPS
