The Help hits theaters August 10. The film is based on the #1 New York Times best-selling book by the same name. The Help tells the story of unlikely friendship between women in 1960s Mississippi: housekeepers and well-to-do housewives. While housekeepers may not be as common as they once were, we can all use a little help now and then. If you need assistance around the house consider these deals on cleaning services.

Take Advantage of Free Estimates - Most companies offer free estimates so that you’ll have an idea of what you may need to spend in order to get your home clean. Get several estimates because, like any service, housekeepers can range quite drastically. You can also use another company’s estimate in negotiations in order to get a better deal.

Merry Maids - There are individually owned and operated Merry Maids offices all over the country. Head to MerryMaids.com and search for a team in your area. Check under “promotions” for various discounts available locally. They can vary depending on location but some offer significant discounts for new customers.

The Maids - The Maids started in 1979 and now serves over 90 major US and Canadian cities in more than 40 US states and three Canadian provinces. Search for your local franchise of The Maids, then head to the “Specials/Promotions” tab to find out if they’re offering discounts in your area. For instance, in Georgia first time customers can save $25.

Valpak - Valpak.com is a great source for printable coupons including discounts on cleaning services. Plug in your zip code to find out what home cleaning businesses are offering deals in your area.

Daily Deal Sites - Daily deal sites like Groupon and Living Social have also been known to offer deep discounts on maid services. Sign up to receive daily emails so that when one of these housekeeping deals becomes available you’ll be one of the first to know.

Ask Them to Bring Supplies - Some house cleaning services may expect the homeowner to supply cleaners, paper towels and trash bags. In order to save yourself some extra money, try negotiating this point. If you can ensure the cleaning equipment and supplies are provided by the housekeeping service, you’ll save between $5 and $10 per cleaning.

Clean Clutter Before They Arrive - Get the most cleaning for your buck by having clutter organized before the maid arrives. Clear off countertops, put away laundry and pick toys up off the rugs. This way your housekeeper can focus on the big jobs, giving you the best value for your investment.
