Free or Affordable Father's Day Activities

Dear old dad gets his day in the spotlight once a year. A recent survey found that the gift one out of five dads prefer is more time with their family. Thankfully that can be done without spending much money (or any at all) with these free or affordable Father’s Day activities.

Go For a Hike - Find a nature trail in your area and take dad on a hike. Print out this free Spring Nature Walk Scavenger Hunt Worksheet and see if you can find everything on the list.

Treat Him to a Treat - Take dad out for his favorite treat on Father’s Day. If you’re lucky he’ll accompany you to TCBY where he’ll actually get a free frozen yogurt on Father’s Day.

Free DIY Super Hero Supply Kit - Make the hero of your home his own DIY supply kit. Get free help from Tip Junkie where you can print out fun labels to put over a candy bar, potato chip bag and more that transforms “normal items” into snacks fit for a super hero.

Take Him Out for Breakfast - Take dad out for some crispy bacon and hot coffee. If you head to IKEA on Father’s Day you’ll get his meal for free. Show up before 11am and the $1.98 meal is no charge.

Free Home Depot Workshop - Home Depot is holding a special Father’s Day kids workshop. On Saturday, June 18 from 9-12 kids can drop in and build a Lil Toolbox with dad—or they can give it to him as a great handmade gift.
