We can all take a cue from Mother Nature this time of year and freshen up our surroundings. Thankfully spring cleaning doesn’t have to require stocking up on pricey products. Instead use these low cost tools for getting rid of grit and grime.

Homemade Drain Cleaner - Don’t bother with expensive drain cleaners. You’ve probably already got what it takes to knock out this chore stashed in your pantry. According to eartheasy.com, you can pour a half cup of baking soda down the drain, followed by a half cup of vinegar. After 15 minutes pour boiling water down the drain to rinse away residue. The site warns to only do this method if you’ve got metal pipes because the boiling water can melt plastic ones.

Microfiber Cleaning Cloths - Don’t waste money cleaning with rolls and rolls of paper towels that just end up in the trash. Save money (and the environment) by using washable Ultra Absorbent Microfiber Cleaning Cloths from Walmart.com. A six-pack is less than $10 and is perfect for dusting delicate surfaces like computer equipment, TVs and even your car.

All Purpose Cleaner - Clean floors, counters, bathrooms and more with the mighty all-purpose cleaner. Right now you can pick up an earth-friendly version of this multi-tasker on sale at MrsMeyers.com. Through March 20 spring cleaning products are 20% off bringing the price of this powerful product down to $6.39.

Window Cleaner - Not too many people like cleaning windows, especially if you have to spend a lot of money to get the job done. Get them to sparkle with a simple mix of two teaspoons of vinegar and one quart of warm water. Eartheasy.com suggests using crumpled newspaper or a cotton cloth to clean them, but make sure you don’t do it when the sun is shining directly on the glass. You’ll end up with streaks.

Disinfectant - Rid your home of lingering germs with a Botanical Disinfecting Spray Cleaner from Seventh Generation. It claims to kill 99.99% of germs without the use of dangerous chemicals. Grab coupons now at SeventhGeneration.com and save up to $1.50. You’ll be green and get clean at the same time.

You really make it seem so easy with your paetensrtion but I find this topic to be actually something that I think I would never understand. It seems too complicated and extremely broad for me. I am looking forward for your next post, I will try to get the hang of it!
