You don’t have to be Irish to enjoy St. Patrick’s Day. March 17 is a fun time to pull on a little green, eat some corned beef and spend time with friends. Here are some free and fun St. Patrick’s Day traditions that will help you feel like you’ve got the luck of the Irish on your side.

Spread Some Luck with Free Treats - Spread some luck to your family and friends this St. Patrick’s Day with a free treat. Thanks to the lovely blog OneCharmingParty.com, you can score their St. Patty’s Day printables for free and create a special holiday treat for your loved ones.

Take in a Free Parade - There are free parades all over the country. On March 12 Hermosa Beach will celebrate St. Patty’s with a parade that kicks off at 11am at the intersection of Pier Avenue and Valley Drive. St. Louis has two St. Patrick’s Day parades including one on March 12 which is one of the largest in the country. And Savannah is always a fun place to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. This year the three-hour parade is on March 17.

Enjoy a Free Irish Festival - In San Francisco the free fun starts at 11am on March 12 and includes Irish music, art, dancing and even a parade. In Columbia, South Carolina the St. Pat’s in Five Points festival kicks off with two free events including the annual fountain-dyeing tradition.

Visit Pubs and Score a Free Ride - Irish pubs are hoppin’ on St. Patrick’s Day. But if you down some Guinness make sure you don’t drive. Take advantage of various opportunities for free transportation including this free bus service in Nevada.

Learn Irish History with Free Resources - Take in some Irish history either by reading up on websites like IrishAmericanHistory.com or by visiting landmarks in your area. If you’re near Boston, check out the Irish Heritage Trail, a guide to landmarks and Irish-American figures from the 1700s to the present.

Do a Jig with Free Irish Music - Nothing can get you into the St. Patty’s Day spirit like a traditional rendition of "Oh Danny Boy". You can score free Irish tunes at FreeIrishMusic.com. (As always, be careful when downloading files from an unknown source.) While you’re at it take in a free “how to” video on Irish step dancing and you’ll be the hit of the St. Patrick’s Day party.
