Low Cost Ways to Say Thank You for Holiday Gifts

Posted on 01/03/2011

You don’t have to be Emily Post to have good manners. Whether it was a $5 Starbucks gift card or a new iPad, saying thank you for gifts is important. And (thankfully) it doesn’t have to be expensive. Here are low cost ways to say thank you for holiday gifts.

Send a Handwritten Card - Sending a handwritten card is a great and thoughtful way to say thanks. Don’t have time to write one of your own? Check out thankthanknotes.com. For just $3 per note they’ll customize a handwritten thank you for you. Let them know if you want notes that look like they were written by a man or woman and they’ll even sign them for you.

Get Help from a Template - Since writing a heartfelt thank you can be difficult, get a little free letter writing help from thankyouletter.ws. They’ve got dozens of free templates that can be downloaded and printed for free.

Pose with the Gift - If the giver is long distance, let them see for themselves how much you loved the gift. Snap a photo of you using or enjoying the gift. Email or send it to let them know you are thankful.

Respond with Food - Nothing says thank you quite like a tasty treat. Give them a homemade meal or dessert along with a short note expressing your gratitude. Make this mean even more by giving them one of their favorite foods.

Broadcast Your Thankfulness - Expressing your gratitude in public can make it mean even more. Write a blog post or a Facebook note and tell others about the great gift you received. Be sure to let everyone know who gave it to you and how much their generosity meant.
