The Amazon Kindle, Apple iPad, Barnes and Noble Nook: there are lots of eBook formats available. And as this evolving technology picks up the pace, lots of people are looking for low cost reading material. Here are some tips for where to find free eBooks.

Free-ebooks.net - Billing itself as the Internet’s number one online source for free eBook downloads, Free-ebooks.net has an entire searchable library of free reading material for your portable device. Download books on a wide variety of topics from beauty to business.

Amazon - Looking for free books for your Amazon Kindle? Just head to Amazon.com and do a quick search in the Kindle store for free books. You’ll find hundreds—if not thousands—of titles with a cost of $0. The list includes popular titles like Philip Yancey’s book, Prayer.

Kobo - Kobobooks.com has more than 200 free eBooks. And the great thing about Kobo is that you can read your free eBooks on any device including a Smartphone, eReader or on your computer.

Reader Store - Google and Sony teamed up to create the Reader Store. At ebookstore.sony.com, you’ll have access to over one million free public domain books including bestsellers and newspapers.

Manybooks.net - Everything offered on manybooks.net is free. Search by authors, titles, genres and even languages.

Barnes and Noble - You may have to pay $259 for your Barnes and Noble Nook, but once you own one you’ll have access to plenty of free titles. Check out the free eBooks section at BarnesandNoble.com
