Black Friday is coming up quick. It’s the day serious shoppers wait all year for. Even if you’re itching to get started on your holiday shopping there are some deals worth waiting for. Here are ten things you should wait until Black Friday to buy.
Laptops - Need a laptop? Black Friday is full of computer bargains. Big name retailers like Office Max, Best Buy and Staples will likely offer significant discounts on select laptop models with hopes of getting huge crowds in the door. You will definitely want to wait until Black Friday to make this purchase—especially if you’re flexible with the features and model of laptop you are looking for.
HDTVs - Black Friday is a great day for making big ticket purchases like HDTVs. Just remember, it’s a bit of a gamble since often stores only stock a limited number of HDTVs with the best mark-downs. But you can likely save several hundred dollars on this one item if you wait until Black Friday.
Appliances - Look at Black Friday as the perfect opportunity to upgrade your household appliances. According to this leaked Black Friday ad for Sears, you can save 55% on a washer and dryer from Kenmore. You’ll get the pair for the same price as the washer normally would cost by itself. Not a bad deal for waiting until Black Friday!
Blu Ray Players - As their price continues to drop, Blu Ray Players may be showing up on a lot of Christmas wish lists this year. And Black Friday may be the perfect time to score a great deal on one. Keep an eye on the ads of big retailers like Best Buy, Target and Sears for some of the best discounts.
Tools - From drill sets to miter saws, Black Friday can be a tool lovers’ dream. Make sure to check out retailers like Harbor Freight Tools. The company has over 300 locations around the country and they’ve already posted their Black Friday deals on their website.
Movies - Movies will make great gifts for plenty of people on your list this year. Wait until Black Friday to buy them and you could walk out with multiple titles for the regular price of just one. You’ll be stocked up with these great stocking stuffers after Black Friday.
Video Game Systems - Retailers know that plenty of kids (and adults) will be asking Santa for video game systems. So often on Black Friday they lure in shoppers with great deals on these popular items. Whether it’s a Wii or a PlayStation, you’ll probably score a great price on Black Friday.
Clothing - If you plan on buying a lot of clothing items for those on your Christmas list, Black Friday is a great time to score deals. Often, clothing retailers hand out special shopping passes to Black Friday bargain hunters that offer an additional percentage off your entire purchase during those early morning hours.
Toys - Some are predicting Walmart to go all out for Black Friday 2009. According to the LA Times, Walmart is expected to offer 100 toys, all for $10 which will likely be very popular items for cash-strapped parents looking to fulfill wish lists without emptying bank accounts. That makes Black Friday a great time to pick up toys for a bargain.
Snuggies - Why pay $14.99 for a snuggie when you can get it for $4.99 on Black Friday? That’s right, a snuggie for less than $5! According to BlackFriday.become.com, Office Max will be offering blue snuggies for $4.99 as one of their doorbuster deals.
