Twitter Tips on Saving Money

If I need a tech question answered, I go to Twitter. If I have a blog I’m excited to promote, I go to Twitter. And if I need someone to write my blog for me, I go to Twitter– well at least I did this time. I posed a question to hundreds of Twitter followers: what is your best money saving tip? @MelBrooke - Order from the children’s menu– portioned better and cheaper!

@Gabetrav - Don’t spend money on “disinfecting spray” for kitchens, bathrooms. It’s just bleach water!

@Fredontv - Sounds silly, but take a calculator [to the grocery store] and add your total as you go. It stops you from buying stuff you don’t need.

@Nextlevelmike - Use Tupperware instead of baggies when packing your lunch.

@Moddivorce - Dilute dishsoap with water and use it as a multi-purpose, child and pet safe cleaner anywhere in your house! It’s digestable and cheap.

@Tjrum - Buy a $5 footlong Subway sub for lunch. Eat half for lunch, half for dinner. Saves me $$.

@ThoBachelorette - Sounds weird, but always visit a website's homepage. They may have free shipping codes or discounts you missed if you landed on another page.

@Sellphone - Work from home one day (or more) per week. Employers are more receptive to the idea then ever, and it saves gas/food/time!

@Tinafightsfire - I pay bills online & recycle the envelopes I get in the paper bills for grocery lists, holding coupons, and paper for 3 yo to draw.

@Numexmama - Shop the markdown bins at the grocery. My store has produce and bakery markdowns, plus dairy and other items. They go fast!

@Srpsco - Watch the local supermarket circular. Some stuff goes on sale at regular intervals. Buy enough to only buy when on sale.

@Tweetster40 - To save money, we buy a large quantity of hamburger and cut it up so we get 5 meals out of it. 1 lb each.
